How To Source with LePrix Auctions
LePrix’s auction platform offers retailers a dynamic avenue to source pre-owned, authenticated luxury items. Here’s an overview of how the process works:
Accessing Auctions: LePrix partners with select auction houses that operate on varying schedules. Auctions are open daily, providing a continuous opportunity to bid on a diverse range of luxury goods.
Bidding Process:
- Placing Bids: You can submit bids on desired items up until the auction’s closing time. It’s possible to adjust your bids multiple times before the auction concludes.
- Maximum Bid: This represents the highest amount you’re willing to pay for an item. The system will automatically increase your bid incrementally up to this limit to maintain your leading position.
- Minimum Bid: This is the lowest bid you can place to participate in the auction for a specific item. Note that the minimum bid is not the same as the reserve price.
Reserve Prices: Some items may have a reserve price, which is the minimum amount the auction house is willing to accept. If the reserve price isn’t met, the item won’t be sold.
Winning an Auction: The highest bidder at the close of the auction wins the item, provided their bid meets or exceeds the reserve price. If two bidders place the same maximum bid, the one who placed it first is given priority.
Post-Auction Process:
- Notification: Auction results are communicated via email within 2-5 business days after the auction ends.
- Payment: Invoices are sent once items are inspected and prepared for shipment. Payment is required before shipping. If payment isn’t received within the specified timeframe, the item may be offered to the next highest bidder.
- Shipping: For weekend auctions, items are invoiced and shipped within 5-10 business days from the auction’s close. For biweekly auctions, this timeframe is 10-15 business days.
