This fabulous handbag was made by Hermes in 1949. Originally coined the Sac a Depeches, this bag is now known as The Kelly Bag and is made from black Swift/Gulliver Leather and canvas. With it's retourne or outer stitching, it's lined in black goatskin and like all of the earlier Kelly bags, features one split pocket and one open pocket (zippers were added in later production years). In very good condition for its 68+ years of age, we note signs of prior use such as some softening and dulling to the top handle and some very light surface cracking to the leather, most notable on the top flap and bottom corners. The canvas shows some color variation and light spots, nothing which detracts from the look of this amazing bag, but is obvious when closely inspecting. This bag comes with its original clochette, lock and key. No dust cover, but it will be carefully packaged for shipment. This is the 32cm version and it measures: 12.5in L x 9in H x 4.8in D. Stamped HERMES PARIS and embossed with the letter E, indicating a 1949 year of production.
