An Hermès black velvet Devore sweatshirt and a Saint
Laurent vintage safari jacket so that I’m ready for safari (ie: photoshoot
opportunity with giraffes in the background) on my next trip to Africa. I last
visited in 2001, so I will be ready for a return soon. And, I’m always up for
Chanel cashmere, no other cashmere lasts the rest of time. I have a vintage
Chanel sweater from 20 years ago; I take care of it well, and it has not
one pill on it.
I have always enjoyed shopping vintage. When I travel, it’s like going to a museum, except you leave with a goody bag. You find something old, that has been appreciated for years, and that you will now look after for years to come. It’s like your own fashion artifact.
In Dallas, it’s Vintage Martini, in LA, it’s The Way We Wore, in Paris, it’s Renaissance Vintage Fashion. And in London, I’ve found some incredible gems at consignment stores like Salou, Pandora, Sign of the Times, The Exchange, and The Find.

My mom was such a fashionista back in the day that my sister and I have some amazing pieces from her that we wear now. Her black leather fringe pieces, her velvet shoulder pad jackets… I have an Ann Hobbs black mini tank dress of hers with gold coins all over it from Cache. I wore it pregnant to the King’s of Leon concert in Hyde Park and now my sister has since taken it from me as we both love it. So I found myself recently scouring online for another one of this exact dress dating back to 1992! I haven’t had any luck yet, but I’m still looking.
