Remember when I said Saint Laurent (formerly known as YSL) handbags were literally everywhere in London Town? Oh goody, you do! Well, I was indeed surprised and pleased to see this because I had purchased an impeccable Saint Laurent Sac de Jour (just like the one below) from LePrix only a few weeks before my trip and I'm completely obsessed.
LePrix has so many Saint Laurent bags that are in absolutely amazing condition, just waiting for you to get your hands on.
Yves Saint Laurent was a very determined and talented child! As a teenager, he moved to Paris to work for Christian Dior and that’s where he honed his skills and became known for his haute couture and ready-to-wear designs. In the early 1960s, he started his namesake line and quickly gained a cult following due to his unprecedented and revolutionary take on women's clothing that was inspired by the structure of menswear.
What set Saint Laurent aside from his peers was his fearless approach to blurring the lines between men’s and women’s fashion while also celebrating female sexuality. He took traditionally masculine items and made them work for a new kind of womenswear…one designed to empower the wearer. With his gender fluid visions, he completely transformed the fashion industry.
Remember this 'It' bag from 2005? Duh...how could you forget? This oversized carryall with shiny hardware still remains one of the most recognizable and iconic bags in the history of YSL, and 'It' bags in general. When YSL launched the 'Muse Two' style in 2008, it sent A-listers and style bloggers into a frenzy trying to get their hands on it because the updated version satchel straps and a more convenient closure. Well, rejoice because the Muse can still be yours and you can make your 2008 style dreams come true.
Originally introduced in 2011, the YSL Cabas bag quickly became an ‘It’ bag as celebrities like Angelina Jolie and Sienna Miller were spotted toting it. Like many other iconic bags, YSL reimagined and reinvented it numerous times, breathing new life into this must-have tote.
A follow-up to the Muse, the Downtown tote was spotted on the on forearms and shoulders of fashion editors and publicists all over New York City and LA. This style made its way into the YSL lineup when 'It' bags were more wearable and versatile, rather than artistic and eclectic. Featuring double top handles, two top-zip closures, and inside pockets, it was the perfect grab-and-go carryall for the busy woman who was always on the go. And now it can be yours!
Whether you're heading to a black tie affair, a daytime wedding or just a night out on the town, the minimalist Belle du Jour clutch makes a simplistically chic statement. Hardware-free with a tonal YSL stamp, it'll pair with all your jewelry, doesn't matter if you're a silver girl or good as gold!
The Kate is a jazzy, classic shoulder bag that comes with a detachable chain strap so it easily transforms into a clutch...giving you two looks in one! The wallet-like interior is large enough to hold your nighttime essentials and small enough to let you dance the night away. Plus, with the oversized monogram, everyone will know it's YSL! Stop traffic with your own gleaming Kate bag from LePrix.
I spotted the Saint Laurent Loulou on the shoulders of many impeccably-dressed women in London. Named after Yves Saint Laurent’s creative right hand and muse, Loulou de La Falaise, this bag is instantly identifiable by its front flap, slightly structured silhouette, quilted detailing, envelope flap closure and the striking logo hardware. Swoon!
While this duffel was predicted to be the next It Bag, it couldn’t steal the thunder from the Celine Luggage Tote. Nonetheless, this minimalistic and totally sleek leather tote is about as classic as they come and does not suffer from ostentatious branding. If you’re looking for luxe without logos, this is your bag.
When Hedi Slimane introduced the Sac de Jour in 2013, I died and had to be revived. The clean lines, classic silhouette and likeness to the Birkin (but for less) won me over. A-listers and style icons felt the same way and it instantly catapulted to the handbag hall of fame. It's still one of Saint Laurent's most popular bags, and they continue to introduce new colors, styles and sizes season after season. The bag is designed with expandable sides for maximum storage and compartmentalized interiors for better organization.
