Meet Anais Laurent. Whether she’s being a scholar at Howard University or a working girl at SnobSwap , she’s always doing what she does with style. A lover of Instagram, she loves posting her outfits on the social platform and it is her primary source of inspiration. By using the #ootd (outfit of the day), Anais gets to share her life via the fashion choices she makes. Check out her tips on how to easily make the perfect #ootd and get those likes, on likes, on likes!
1. The background

Get a great background that makes your outfit pop. Try a wall or a scenery with nature. That being said, the background shouldn't overwhelm your outfit. It should highlight the essence of your OOTD to truly enhance the image as a whole. It's all about balance.
2. Full length photos only
The picture must capture your outfit from head-to-toe, we want to see the shoes, necklace and the hair! This is essential because details matter! Your picture shouldn't be crooked or blurry and accessories such as a statement necklace are used to accentuate an outfit; we want to see it.
3. To Pose or Not to Pose

If you're feeling bold, go for the candid look! Try strutting through a cross walk; just appear to be completely natural paying the camera absolutely no mind. Be aware of your body language and communicate with the camera. Remember if you’re uncomfortable the viewer can instantly sense that.
4. Lighting

Natural light is always best, pay attention to the quality and direction of the light (never in direct sunlight). Even when the weather doesn’t seem to be working in your favor, a little overcast can make a picture appear grungy/edgy so let your outfit speak to that mood!
5. A Good Quality Camera

With the convenience of mobile phone cameras it is possible to achieve a professional looking shot. Great editing apps include VSCOcam, Whitagram and now Instagram have great editing features-like the sharpening tool. As far as DSLR camera’s, Nikons and Canons seem to be the most popular brands.
