When a blogging icon and renowned fashionista makes her way to DC, attention must be paid. With the launch of her new collection of short stories, Leandra Medine of The Man Repeller graced the W Hotel in Washington
with her presence for an evening of style, fun and discussion of Man Repeller: Seeking Love. Finding Overalls.
The W Hotel’s P.O.V.
served as the venue for the evening; cocktails and conversation flowed with our Nations Capital glowing in the background, making for an atmosphere as warm and as welcoming as the guest of honor.
Spotting overalls in the crowd may have been on par in ease with playing Where’s Waldo, however DC’s most trend savvy rose to the occasion when it came to their ensembles for the evening. Holding true to the Man Repeller’s philosophy
of “outfitting oneself in a sartorially offensive mode that may result in repelling members of the opposite sex”, guests threw the norm of convention by the wayside, embracing their inner love of avant-garde and adhering to their true style.
And while we’re on the subject, lets not forget Medine herself. Not your ordinary “stand and shoot” fashion blogger, Medine’s sartorial eye blended with her strong wit and writing makes for a complete package in not only a blogging realm, but also a literary one as well. Man Repeller: Seeking Love. Finding Overalls
only reaffirms Ms. Medine’s genuine and charming effect.
Overall (no pun intended), the evening was a fabulous success and hopefully an inspirational reminder to its guests to take risks and wear exactly what makes you happy!
