It isn't every day we're swayed here at SNOBSWAP. It takes a lot for us to turn and say "Oooh, that's utterly gorgeous." But once in awhile something comes along that captures our attention, as well as our stylebuds, and makes us fall entirely head over heels. Lately one of those things came in the form of a person; a designer to be exact. If you glanced at the models that strode down the runway at
Simone Rocha's spring 2014 show, you would have noticed the incredible quality and vibrancy the collection featured.

The collection also incorporated the idea of union and marriage. This was what Rocha had set out to accomplish when creating her spring collection. The inspiration came when Rocha attended a wedding this past summer in Ireland and was ultimately blown away by the poetry of it all.
"It's [collection] balance and constraint. Soft, rough and tough, men and women." Rocha stated.

That seems to be a reoccurring theme on runways these days. Designers are opting for a softer look with a matrimonial vibe. However, there's something different in the way Rocha does it that leaves many in awe. The collection is an apparent mixture of masculine and sweetness. Rocha has managed to create the ultimate, modern tomboy: tough yet slightly girlish. You only need to take a look at the collection to spot the clues: lace, broderie anglaise, and crochet details meshed with plastic, spongy synthetics and leather. Somehow, all these factors combine well together and create something unique and innovative. It is
that precise reason why we can't stop obsessing over Rocha.
