We're pretty big on fashion here at SNOBSWAP. In our line of work; it's pretty much expected. But as mush as we adore the crisp lines of a gorgeous Valentino dress or the structured silhouette of an oversized Chloe blazer; they aren't the only things that drive us into a momentary state of comatose. We're also vast enthusiasts of beauty as well in case you didn't know, and there's one particular beauty craze that has us merely foaming at the mouth. The simplistic hair trend known as the Side Part.
Featured on almost every spring 2014 runway this past Fashion Week; the side part appears to popping up everywhere. Models at Prada strode down the runway with flowing long hair, casually parted to the side. Over at DKNY, models opted for an updo also parted to one particular side. Whether you choose to wear them up or down; it's evident side parts are here to stay. Well, until the next huge beauty movement comes a knocking.
To obtain the stylish look, gather large sections and wound them around a 1.25" curling iron or a flatiron. Start four inches down from the scalp, making sure to bend the hair in a relaxed S curve (alternating directions to keep avoid too much symmetry). The parted hair is held in place over the ear with a bobby pin. If you want to leave your hair down, simply spray texturing spray (Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray is preferred) for a tousled effect, all over your hair while using a "scrunching" technique on large sections. Once you've completed this step take a huge chunk of hair and part it to whichever side you feel the most comfortable.
