We’ve teamed up with two amazing tastemakers and fashion bloggers, Elle from ellechoi.com and Wesley from screamingmouth.com, to answer your every day fashion questions! Got a question, send us an email at:
[email protected] or post the question on our Facebook wall. This week’s edition is what to splurge that bonus on (hello, Chanel!) and the perpetual question for men - to show or not to show their ankles. Thanks for reading! xo
Q: I recently got a bonus and I want to splurge. Should I buy one classic piece like a nice handbag or buy multiple items to spruce up my wardrobe? Thank you!
Elle: Congratulations on the bonus! :) How you want to spend that extra money is completely up to you but if it were me, I would treat myself to one big splurge that I had my heart set on. Haven't you been wanting that
Chanel purse? ;) Currently, I am in the market for a classic, killer nude heel (like
Jimmy Choo Anouk or
Christian Louboutin Pigalle) that will complete every outfit with a "wow". On the other hand, I could always add another pair of sunnies to my collection and add some summer dresses to my wardrobe! Depending on how big your bonus is, maybe you can treat yourself to one nice piece and possibly something extra on the side? Every steak needs a nice glass of wine to complete the meal, doesn't it? Happy shopping! :)
xoxo,
Elle
Chanel Bag anyone? :)

Q: I was up in NYC and noticed a lot of guys these days not wearing socks. Is this a new thing? And should I try it?
Wes: Ah, a recent discovery of going "sockless"! I use quotation marks because, although some guys don't wear socks, most are in fact wearing no-show loafer socks. Going sockless can be a somewhat polarizing aesthetic, but I'm in total support of the look. To answer your first question, no, this is not a new thing. I've been wearing loafer socks for years with my driving shoes, Vans, and brogues while wearing shorts, rolled chinos, or rolled jeans. Women show leg all the time, so why can't we? Check out these
loafer socks from
Banana Republicme, as I've found they're the best-fitting for the money ($14.50 for 2 pairs). Stay cool.
