Oh the glitz and the glam of Fashion Week! This is one of our favorite times of year, where models strut down gleaming runways, with inspiring looks for the upcoming season. Here are the looks that sent our hearts aflutter! xx
Alexander Wang was all about playing with new silhouettes and shapes in his Spring/Summer 2013 collection. He played with vertical and horizontal lines, to create an illusion of floating pieces of fabric on the woman’s body. He also combines leather and silk effortlessly, making the textile’s appear not that different to the other. These looks are perfect for hot summer weather because of the breathability of the dresses. The leather baseball hats make sports seem a little more fun, am I right?
Black and white were popular colors this season, but Victoria Beckham was not scared of adding a pop of color into her summer looks. Per usual, her pieces are clean cut and neat, just like her personal style. Cut-out also appears to be a trend this season, giving these looks a subtle sexiness without showing too much. Short hemlines are a definite necessity for the hot weather as well. These are all great pieces to integrate into your office look (maybe not the bralette in the first look...) without sacrificing your personal style!
Like Alexander Wang, Prabal Gurung had fun mixing different textiles like shiffon, leather and feathers to create an interesting and textured look, while keeping the whole outfit light weight for the summer heat. He also decided to add some pops of color through out a pretty black and white runway. All the looks are effortlessly chic, mixing sporty, sexy and business casual in only in one outfit. Short hemlines seems to continue through out New York City, so forget about your maxi skirt, embrace your beautiful legs and show them off to the world in some sexy strappy sandals.
